How To Measure Your Wrist
Measuring your wrist is a simple process and requires only a flexible measuring tape, a piece of string, and a ruler. Follow these steps to accurately measure your wrist:
Using a Flexible Measuring Tape:
Get a Measuring Tape: Use a soft, flexible measuring tape. These are commonly found in sewing kits or can be purchased at most stores.
Position Your Arm: Extend your arm in front of you or lay it flat on a table. Make sure your wrist is relaxed and in a neutral position.
Wrap the Tape Around Your Wrist: Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your wrist. This is usually just below the base of your hand, where your wrist bone sticks out.
Read the Measurement: Make sure the tape is snug but not too tight. Note the measurement where the end of the tape meets the rest of the tape measure. This is the circumference of your wrist.
Using a String and Ruler:
Gather Materials: If you don't have a flexible measuring tape, grab a piece of string, ribbon, or a thin strip of paper and a ruler.
Wrap the String Around Your Wrist: Follow the same process as with the measuring tape, wrapping the string around the widest part of your wrist, just below the hand bone.
Mark or Hold the String: Once the string encircles your wrist, mark the point where the end meets the rest of the string. Alternatively, hold the string firmly in place without stretching it.
Measure the String: Use a ruler to measure the length of the string from the end to the marked point. This measurement gives you the circumference of your wrist.
Tips:
Consistency in Measurement: Ensure you measure the same part of your wrist each time for consistency in sizing.
Avoid Tightness: The tape or string should be snug around your wrist but not too tight. It should sit comfortably without causing indentation.
Take Multiple Measurements: For accuracy, take two or three measurements and calculate the average to get a more precise wrist circumference.
Once you have the measurement, you can select the right-sized bracelet. Knowing your wrist size is also helpful when ordering custom-made bracelets.
